Grandpa and Leavy

Grandpa's good eye bled on Tuesday evening, leaving him unable to see except with peripheral vision. He has an appointment on Monday at 4.30pm with someone who will try to remove the blood at the back of his eye. This is the only hope of getting his vision to return. Meanwhile, he can't read, watch TV, or do normal things like pour tea into a cup, as he can only see at the sides. The specialist put her hand out in front of his face and asked him how many fingers he could see. He could only see 3, being unable to see the middle 2.

When I spoke to Granny at lunchtime today she was much happier, having fought to get the appointment for Monday. It has to be done within a week of the bleed. They were about to head out into the garden to do a few things together as it was sunny and it gave something to keep Grandpa occupied. Ian - if you read this, please send him a postcard or letter as soon as possible.

Leavy is excelling herself. Today she managed to escape a few times, and it seems she has worked out a way of getting over the fence into the veg garden. From there she gets into the graveyard, and away. Guess what we'll be doing tomorrow.
